Commitment to Quality Care
Our commitment to provide enhanced quality care services is reflected in our participation in value-based care (VBC) programs such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) programs like the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), Oncology Care Model (OCM) and Enhancing Oncology Model (EOM), as well as other health insurance performance-based programs.
We are proud of our performance in quality programs, including:
Achievement of top-tier quality performance status in value-based
care programsPharmacy and Therapy (P&T) protocols that optimize medication utilization and reduce average drug costs, recognizing pharmaceuticals as the largest contributor to total cost of care
Participation in more than 4 performance-based programs
Recognition of our commitment to quality and lower costs through participation in episode-based models that reward high quality and coordinated care

Collaboration with Other Physicians
Our commitment to the wellbeing of our patients means keeping all other care providers informed. We close the loop with referring offices by communicating when an appointment has been scheduled and providing timely status updates.
Our practice participates in Carequality, a nationwide network allowing providers to securely exchange patient health data. This connection empowers real-time collaboration and assists every member of a patient’s care team by providing the latest information to enable more timely treatment decisions.
Evidence-Based Medicine
Clinical pathways are evidence-based protocols that analyze different treatment options and narrow them to a concise list of choices that drive both the best possible outcome and the best value. A powerful regimen-support tool helps physicians make the best possible treatment choices using the latest advances in therapy.
Optimal Outcomes
Achieved by incorporating the latest and most effective treatments — promising new immunotherapy drugs, new drug combinations, new radiation techniques, or novel clinical trials.
Minimized Side Effects
Treatment side effects are reduced by selecting the most effective, least toxic therapy for each individual patient.
Reduced Financial Burden
The cost of care is lowered by identifying less-expensive treatment options that produce equal or even better outcomes.
96%
adherence to the cancer treatment guidelines created by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)
Clinical Trials
Great strides have been made in creating effective cancer treatments through new drug therapies researched in clinical trials. Compass Oncology participates in trials through Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a joint venture with US Oncology Research and one of the world’s leading community-based oncology research organizations.
We sponsor more clinical trials than any other cancer treatment facility in the Portland–Vancouver area, with more than 40–50 open studies at any given time across nearly all tumor types — including lung, head and neck, breast, melanoma, lymphoma, bladder, uterine, ovarian, and brain.
